Q: How is weight limit determined?
A: Let's look at the U8 adult model as an example - Maximum rider weight capability is 250 lbs. There are many factors that went into determining the Unit's true weight (load) bearing capability. rider weight aside, the rider's strength as exerted against riding surface and terrain is the true test. IE: a 250 lb. rider can exert in excess of an addtitional 200 lbs. of force on an extremely smooth concrete incline; since there can be no slippage between this smooth surgfface and the Urethane wheels, the total energy inputed for propulsion is translated in torque against the articulating wheel assemblies and the frame that supports them.
